Mini Grade Marching Camp:

• This week is our mini grade marching camp! Monday-Thursday 5-7 pm.
• On Thursday, May 23rd, we will have a parent performance in the competition gym at 6:30 pm. All parents are invited to the performance!
• Immediately after the performance we will have our 8th grade parent meeting at 7 pm.
• If your student would like to stay in the band hall for the marching camp after 2:45 pm, we welcome them to as long as they are practicing, studying, or doing homework. Otherwise, students please go home and return for the camp at 5.
• The Friday before Memorial Day we will be sending our final marching band numbers to our drill writer for next year. Factors for selection are eligibility throughout the year, rehearsal attendance throughout the year, and display of ability at the mini grade marching camp. We strongly advise our students to make sure they prioritize their grades and work on skills needed at the marching camp to have a spot for next year in the competitive marching show.

Notes for Parents and Students

• Spring Concert! WOW, WHAT A CONCERT! Thank you all for your flexibility in making the concert happen. All bands sounded wonderful and our seniors had a chance to be honored for their hard work and dedication to the Knights Band!
• On Saturday June 1st the Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Bands will be performing at the CFHS Graduation Ceremony. The call time at the band hall will be determined at a later time. We will also welcome any volunteers from the concert band!
• This week we will begin our auditions for bands for the 2019-2020 school year. Audition placement will be determined by playing ability. Seniority will only be taken into consideration in the event of a tie between students. Previous grades could also be a factor in determining band placements as well. We will begin with the low instruments Tubas, Bari Saxes and work our way up. We will begin on Tuesday at the High School.
• The Full Orchestra will be performing Monday evening at the CFHS auditorium. There will be a rehearsal from 2:45 to 3:45 pm. The concert begins at 7 pm. Halle Goodman will be performing a feature as a piccolo soloist!
• Friday May 24th is the percussion marimba recital at CFHS auditorium. Start time is 6:30 pm. Lots of performances this week!

Guard Corner:

• Color Guard Tryouts are on the week of May 20-23rd. 5-7 pm at the Clear Falls gym.
• Please spread the word to get more guard students. We are looking to have two guards (JV and Varsity) next year if the numbers permit.
