Region Band Test #3 will be held starting tomorrow, November 11th. Mr. Moreno will start with the low brass on Monday and finish with all of the brass on Tuesday the 12th. Mr. Zavalla will test the low reeds on November 13th and finish the woodwinds on November 14th. Percussion will be testing on Wednesday November 13th.
Region Orchestra and 9th grade Region Auditions are upon us. All students who raised their hand in class have been signed up already. The cost is $15 per audition and the money is due IMMEDIATELY. We are planning to run a bus that will leave around 2:20 on Monday and Tuesday from school, and will bring them back afterwards. Alt. Transportation forms maybe done for those who wish to be brought by some other means. We are having a tough time finding a driver for these events, in the event we cannot find a driver, we will need to leave school around noon so the bus drivers can make it back for their routes. We will give it until Thursday before making a final decision.
Thursday from 3:30-4:45 will be our rehearsal for the playoff show! Attendance is mandatory and critical. NO FULL ORCHESTRA THIS WEEK!!!
The final payment installment for the Band Fees is due on Monday December 1st. Please refer to your charms account for more details. Please pay all fees so we can make sure the students get the necessary needs for the rest of the year. If there are any questions please contact Mr. Moreno.
1st round of playoffs this week! Vs. George Ranch HS at Veterans Memorial Stadium at 7 pm. Playoffs are a 1 game elimination and we will play every week until we lose. Please see the calendar for reference.
This week’s dinner will by philly-cheesesteaks for the game.
Percussion Ensemble Rehearsal on Tuesday 3:30-6:30 per the calendar.
Students are required to begin looking for solos and ensembles for the Solo and Ensemble contests coming up. Please check with your student to make sure they are making time to come to the band hall and select a solo from our library. Any solos that are not in our library must be purchased on their own.
